I’ve been dragging my feet all week. I blame the weather in Seattle that can’t seem to make up its mind, its hot then cold then its hot again.
I still wanted to paint but I didn’t know what of, and didn’t feel particularly motivated to put in the energy to get inspired. So I just have been pushing paint around in the journal. Its good though, I don’t have to produce a masterpiece every time I paint. Some days just the act of painting is good enough.

Sparrow

I feel like my paintings are beginning to look the way I see them in my head, and not just that, they are feeling truer, and less forced.
I still had some issues with composition on this painting, the little sparrow doesn’t quite feel right. I think it has to do with the size of the painting, 5×5 which is small. I should be painting BIG! But, I’m ecstatic with the way she came to be. With less chatter in my head, less doubt, more trust in my brush work.
I’m thinking the abstract work I’ve been doing has helped me feel more confident in my ability.
